About Us
The Second Congregational Church is part of the United Church of Christ (UCC) and also part of the Vermont Conference of the UCC.

We are located in the center of Londonderry right on Route 11. The Neighbor’s Pantry and Thrifty Attic share the Peck House, which the church also owns (the former Methodist parsonage) on the other side of the church parking lot. We invite you to come and worship with us on Sundays at 9:30 am!

WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO KNOW

THE SACRAMENT OF COMMUNION is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. The cups contain unfermented grape juice. All are welcome at Christ's table.

YOU CAN JOIN THE CHOIR! Yes, you really can! Solo ability not needed. Ability to read music not needed. The choir warms up each Sunday morning at 8:30 AM and rehearses Sunday mornings (after church) from 10:50 AM - 12:00 Noon, except for Communion Sundays when there is no rehearsal.

WE HAVE FREQUENT CONGREGATIONAL PARTICIPATION: lay scripture readers, occasional lay preacherrs, and an annual "laity" Sunday.

OUR CHURCH IS USED BY THE COMMUNITY:
Senior Lunches, the Girl Scouts, the Floodbrook Athletic Association, weekly piano lessons given by a member of the community, weekly music classes for toddlers and parents and the Floodbrook Community Collaborative all meet here. Notices of these and other meetings are in our weekly announcement notices or can be found in our newsletter, THE OUTREACH, published six times a year.

CHILDREN ARE IMPORTANT! We welcome children of all ages to our worship experience. From September through May children ages kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to our multi-age Sunday School downstairs in the Friendship Room following the Children's Story. We use the "One Room Sunday School' curriculum by Abingdon Press. Sunday School meets during worship and is taught by a set of volunteers from the congregation. Infants and toddlers are also invited downstairs to the nursery and we have paid childcare folks who are a consistent presence from week to week for the youngest among us! In the summer months we rely on volunteers to provide childcare.

SHORT-TERM BIBLE STUDIES AND FAITH ENRICHMENT CLASSES are offered at various times during the year. Classes center around specific books of the Bible and are led by lay volunteers from the congregation. Video series are also offered on occasion.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR MISSION AND OUTREACH ABOUND. As a United Church of Christ congregation, we support outreach and mission efforts at the local, state, and national levels. For more information, see our Mission & Outreach page.
